On Saturday the Ist XV played King’s Parramatta from Sydney. King’s is one of Australia’s leading Independent Schools, and it was a great honour for us to be the only State School included in their 2013 Tour Itinerary alongside Truro School, Sherborne, Dulwich College and Wellington[Berks]. King’s dominated all aspects of play in the first half to lead 12-0 at half-time. However, the second half was a more even contest and the 1sts scored 3 excellent tries to get within one point of their powerful, well organised Australian opponents.

Strong King’s defence, though, in the final seconds of the match helped to maintain their narrow lead, and they held on to win the match 20-19 which was well deserved.
