Chess – National School’s Knockout Qualification

Our 1st team convincingly won the Bristol regional heat of this year’s ECF National School’s Competition. Our team won all of its matches, winning the competition ahead of Churchill Academy (Somerset), QEH (Bristol), hosts Bristol Grammar School and Hereford Cathedral School.

We also entered a B team in the event. Our young team performed fantastically well: before the final round of matches were lying joint 3rd. However a last round loss to Churchill left the B team 6th, just outside the top 4 (teams who qualified for the later knockout rounds of the competition).

Congratulations to all our players. And good luck to the A team when they compete in the National Knockout rounds early next year.
