Iceland Trip

Iceland Trip

During half term, 30 intrepid explorers from Years 8 and 9 travelled to Iceland to experience the geography and geology of south-western Iceland. Our itinerary was packed full of impressive and varied landscapes, from huge waterfalls to volcanic craters, to bubbling geothermal pools and expansive glaciers. Our huge 4WD monster coach drove us through rivers and along dirt roads, which at times for those at the back was more like a rollercoaster than a road trip. Highlights of the trip include seeing a Minke whale up close whilst whale watching, walking behind the curtain of water that is Sejlandsfoss, climbing to the top of a hill with the view of the incredible Thorsmork valley and following our canine guide onto the glacier in full ice climbing gear. A thoroughly fantastic trip.
