Parents' Association Home

Our uniform shop volunteers hope you and your families remain safe and well during the continuing pandemic.

Move of premises

Having spent the last 2 years operating out of temporary premises (a portable cabin on the other side of the school site located between the Veale block and Food Tech block), we have finally moved into our lovely new room in the school’s Clive and Sylvia Richards Business Enterprise Centre. Our portable cabin is now empty and will be removed over the Summer break.

Opening times & appointments

Although social distancing restrictions have now been removed by our government, the uniform shop team is still maintaining most of our Covid-19 protocols due to the current number of cases. We ask that everyone continues to wear a mask when visiting our shop (unless exempt) and that social distancing is maintained during appointments. This is to ensure the safety of both our customers and volunteers.

We are therefore currently open on an appointment-only basis so if you need a fitting, please email our team at

PLEASE NOTE: Please bring a clean pillowcase to your appointment to facilitate uniform items that fit over the head (rugby shirts, t-shirts and hoodies) to be tried on hygienically.

Outside of “Covid” times, the shop generally opens twice a month:

Once on a Thursday – we open both at lunchtime 13:30 – 14:00 when priority is given to those students who catch a school bus home and after school 15:30 – 16:15.
Once on a Saturday – we open between 09:15 – 11:00, which is popular for parents unable to get to the shop during the week due to work commitments and for those at school for sporting fixtures.

Covid-19 secure and protocols

Although we are no longer required to display a "Covid-19 secure" poster, we have chosen to continue doing so for the time being due to the continuing number of cases.

Online shop

In September 2020, we launched an online shop which has been a huge success and has enabled the shop to keep trading during the pandemic with purchases being delivered to form rooms by our volunteers so as to preserve the year group bubbles. Once normality resumes, we will probably open one lunchtime per week for students to come to the shop and collect orders. We will be sure to keep information up to date on the Parents’ Association section of the school’s website

Methods of payment accepted

At present, we are only accepting payment by card and bank transfer (by prior arrangement using a reference). Payment by debit / credit card and Apple pay will continue to be our preferred method of payment even after the pandemic is over but we will also accept payments by cash (excluding £50 notes) and if essential by cheque (with your son’s name and form written on the reverse).

Please note we are unable to accept payments by card for items that we are not supplying immediately due to Distance selling regulations and, in this situation, payment will be requested by bank transfer.

Sixth form applicants

If your son or daughter has applied to join our Sixth form in September 2021, it will be possible to book fitting appointments via Reservio at from results day (Thursday 12/08/21) onwards.

You might like to take a look at our online shop for the items required but PLEASE DO NOT PLACE AN ORDER ONLINE.

Usually, we've had to offer uniform fittings quite early due to the lead time of our blazers. However, things are much easier this year as we changed the type of Sixth form blazer we sell last year to a single Eco blazer type which, as well as being much more environmentally friendly, can be ordered and crested within just a couple of weeks and we already have a significant number of these blazers in stock.

Prior to this, we sold 2 types (a standard hopsack blazer (readily available but often too short in the arm for taller students) and a more expensive and more tailored length adjustable Made-To-Order blazer (which like the lower school blazers had a significant lead time). The small number of both these types of blazers which we still have in stock will be sold at a significant discount this year.

Previously Owned Uniform (POU)

We are always grateful for donations of old uniform which can be placed in a large plastic box in reception located between the form drawers and the sofas. However, we would be very grateful if you could launder any donations beforehand (our blazers are machine washable at 40 degrees and wash extremely well) and only donate items which are in a good state of repair (without stains and tears etc).

We currently accept all items of uniform and non Tommies branded sports kit except:

  • Games socks
  • Swimming trunks
  • Old style house coloured reversible games shirts
  • Old style house colour trimmed white PE T-shirts
