This popular one-day workshop is aimed at secondary Art teachers interested in raising achievement while developing students’ creative skills through the curriculum. The course covers:
- strategies to raise achievement in Art in both high-achieving and mixed-ability classrooms
- identifying and stretching more able pupils
- practical tips and tricks to take back to your classroom
Course leader and Rich’s Head of Art Barry O’Neill consistently achieves some of the highest results in the School, and some of the highest in Art in the county. Head of Year 12 at Rich’s and the GITEP Subject Leader for Art, Barry has a Master’s in Education and is a Specialist Leader in Education within the Sir Thomas Rich’s Teaching School Alliance. Barry is also the Adfecto Art NQT Mentor for Gloucestershire and has run a number of CPD sessions for teachers and Heads of Department on raising achievement. He has extensive teaching experience and has been a subject mentor for a number of trainees. Barry is an Honorary Teaching Fellow of the University of Bristol.
