Yesterday a group of year 12 and 13 linguists had the opportunity to attend a series of excellent lectures in French, German and Spanish at Stroud High School. The lectures were organised by the West of England branch of ALL (Association for Language Learning) and were delivered by native speakers, working in Higher Education. The themes were linked to the A level topics and gave an excellent insight into some cultural aspects of the relevant countries. The pupils really enjoyed the lectures and have undoubtedly benefitted both linguistically and intellectually from the experience. What was particularly noteworthy is the behavior of our pupils who were outstanding ambassadors to the school and it was a pleasure to accompany them to the lectures.
