About Sir Thomas Rich's School
Welcome to Sir Thomas Rich’s website, I hope it gives you a flavour of what life is like at Rich’s. We work hard to create an environment where students will be happy, grow in self-confidence, thrive academically, and make the most of the many opportunities we offer. We pride ourselves on the pursuit of excellence both inside the classroom and out, and on encouraging pupils to develop their talents and interests. We are a selective school, admitting 150 boys into Year 7 who join us from Gloucester, the county and beyond, with a coeducational Sixth Form. Although we endeavour to ensure our pupils have access to the latest educational developments, we have not forgotten our heritage and we are proud of our traditions, the best of which underpin and influence the overall ethos of the School. The School motto ‘Garde Ta Foy’ is written in Old French, it means Keep the Faith. I would encourage those who wish to know more about Sir Thomas Rich’s to visit us: I look forward to welcoming you.

Visting Us
We welcome visitors to Sir Thomas Rich's School. Our opening hours are between 8.25am and 4.15pm.
Sir Thomas Rich's is located in Longlevens, on the eastern edge of Gloucester. Access from the M5 and Cheltenham is excellent, as we are less than a mile from the Golden Valley by-pass. Journey time from the M5 is less than ten minutes.
From junction 11 of the M5 head towards Gloucester. At the end of the dual carriageway, take the third turning off the roundabout onto Cheltenham Road. After 100 metres, turn left at the traffic lights into Nine Elms Road and follow this road round to the right. After half a mile (as the road bends left) turn left into Oakleaze. The school is on the left.
There are a limited number of parking spaces during the school day at the front of the school and reception is clearly signposted through the archway.
