Careers – PwC Presentation

An invited audience, mainly drawn from the Sixth Form, were provided with a presentation by PriceWaterhouseCoopers, who outlined all of their Business Services, ranging from Consultancy, Technological, Actuary and Auditing work. Our guests also promoted the importance of ‘Employability Skills’ and provided lots of valuable tips when it came to ‘Recruitment Selection’. The days of a standard interview are long gone, with psychometric testing, practical competency skill assessment days and project presentations the norm in recruitment selection. Other useful information was provided in relation to interviewing and the importance of ‘self-development’ in terms of nurturing extra-curricular experience was really emphasised. The presentation not only focussed upon Graduate Recruitment, but all the other opportunities that PwC offers. Our guests did not come from the traditional Business/Financial backgrounds that you would expect and the important lesson that the students took away with them, is that personality, experience and interpersonal skills are just as important as academic qualifications. We thank PwC for a really interesting, thought provoking and engaging presentation. I am sure that our students would have really gained from this presentation.
