The school A and B chess teams both qualified for the knockout stages of the year’s ECF National Schools Championships. We travelled to Hereford Cathedral School for a peculiar double-header, our A team v their B team and vis-versa. Both A teams won, but congratulations should go to Sacha Dudley (7R) who won his game scoring a point for our B team against a HCS A team player.

Our A team are now through to the Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and South Wales Region semi-finals, effectively the last 64 in the country. The 4 remaining schools are STRS, HCS, Chepstow School and St Johns, Cardiff.
