Congratulations to James Tunkhume (13R) and Daniel Hart (13L) who achieved a Gold Crest Award.
Over the course of the summer, James Tunkhume and Daniel Hart were among 30 students selected from 600 applicants to participate in the Nuffield Research Placements in the South West Region. This is a highly competitive scheme which allows students to experience an academic environment at a university level.
Each student had to create a self-directed scientific report based on their ideal field of research. The students decided to delve into the field of Engineering and Mathematics. Their scientific reports had to be produced to a university standard and involved over 70 hours of work, supported by the University of Bath.
On Wednesday 19th October 2016, James and Daniel each had to design and display a scientific poster at the University of Bath and to present their findings and results in front of Professors, PhD students and specialists in the field of Engineering.
As a result of the process, both students attained the Gold CREST award for outstanding achievement and effort in their respective fields.
