Cross Country Success

Runners from every year group competed in the Gloucester district cross country championships recently at Plock Court. After winning the Junior boys, intermediate boys and senior boys races, STRS were crowned district boys cross country champions. This is a title the school has held for a number of years. Some excellent performances were had by individual runners. Lucas Birkby and Sam Brook finished 1st and 2nd respectively in the minor boys race. Charlie Ruler finished 7th in the junior boys race, Henry James finished 1st in the intermediate boys race and George Hawthorne finished 2nd in the senior boys race. As a result 13 runners, including 4 senior girls have qualified to run for Gloucester in the county championships on December the 2nd.

As well as this a Junior boys team competed in the ESAA regional finals ay Adam's Grammar School in Shrewsbury. A notable performance was had by Charlie Rule who finished 19th place overall. As the spring term approaches the boys and girls prepare for the upcoming senior cross country relays in the new year, including the prestigious King Henry the VIII relay in February.
