The FameLab Academy Gloucestershire Final took place last Thursday at the Roses Theatre, Tewkesbury, with Hem B from 9R scooping the runner up prize with his fantastic talk on time dilation: ‘The Truth Time Won’t Tell’. All of the students from the various Gloucestershire schools gave excellent talks, and the judges had a very difficult decision deciding, but in the end the winner was Lily from Churchdown School with ‘How do Axolotls Regenerate their Limbs?’, and the other runner up was Mohammed from St Edward’s. The nine students that had taken part in the STRS round of FameLab Academy competition were there to cheer Hem on: Russ A; Max BD; Archie C; Sebastian W; Henry D; Daniel C; Barney W; Oscar S; and Adam C.

The competition was compered by Jamie Gallagher (scientist and science communicator) and the judges were: Jo Durrant (presenter and podcaster); Jon Chase (science communicator); and Matt Exton (Head of Nuclear Fuel, EDF).

During the interval there was a Kahoot quiz which Adam C won! A very successful day for Rich’s, a huge well done to both Hem and Adam.
