German Virtual Exchange 2021

The German department is delighted to report the success of its first ever Year 10 Virtual Exchange in conjunction with Denmark Road High School and our partner school in Germany, the Otto Hahn Gymnasium in Goettingen.
The aim of the exchange was to improve the pupils’ knowledge of German, help them gain a better insight into German culture and, above all, build the foundations for long-lasting friendships.
Fourteen Year 10 boys took part in the exchange, which covered five consecutive weeks, from Monday 11 January to Friday 12 February 2021. Each week, students took part in activities, which included challenges such as baking or cooking your partner’s favourite recipe, watching your partner’s favourite film or series or guessing a geographical place your partner has described.
The exchange culminated in an enjoyable joint presentation and quiz evening with all 3 schools competing. The winners of the quiz were Sam Brook and Will Hall with their German partners.
The German department would like to thank parents for their ongoing support and congratulate the pupils who have taken part on their excellent work.
