We were thrilled to be able to offer the sixth form girls the opportunity to attend a Netball tour this year to Malta. As the number of girls joining STRS continues to grow, so too does the number opting to take Netball as their games option on a Wednesday afternoon.

We took 30 girls, accompanied by 4 staff, to Qawra in Malta. We worked hard to fundraise for the tour and had invaluable support from three local sponsors; Bovis Homes, Hi-Tech Windows and R W Bearings. We are very grateful for their generosity and we were able to purchase new match balls, bibs and fleeces. We were also able to buy a second set of team dresses so that both the A and B team were in matching kit for this tour. These now have the logos on of our sponsors for us to continue to wear to our weekly matches.

We were able to play six fixtures in the 5 days that we were away. It was a particular highlight of the trip to be able to play the Maltese National teams at a range of age levels. The A team are particularly strong this year, as the results show. Even with a few losses, the teamwork shone through and everyone was able to play part or all of a match. The girls were a pleasure to take away on tour and a credit to the school.
