Connor May in Year 9 has won the Gloucestershire final of the Cheltenham Science Festival’s FameLab Academy science communication competition. Connor had sent a recording of his fantastic three-minute talk on ‘Why We Dream’ to the Cheltenham Science Festival, which was played on a Zoom call for the live virtual final yesterday, along with talks from other finalists from across Gloucestershire. Connor was then asked three questions from the judges live on the Zoom call.
Staff and Year 9 students enjoyed watching the talks from the other schools and the students watching took part in a scavenger hunt while the judges deliberated on their decision.
Mrs Mee says “Connor should be congratulated on the great talk that he had prepared, plus he was able to answer the questions from the judges confidently and thoroughly”.
Well done Connor, your school is very proud!
