Three groups of Year 12 students stepped up to the 100 Day Entrepreneurship Challenge to develop a business plan to help the UN meet one of its 17 Sustainability Goals.
During the 100 days, the teams worked incredibly hard on their business plans, they met with their entrepreneurs in residence from the University of Lancaster, they created social media accounts for their businesses and showed great enthusiasm and work ethic throughout. At the end of April Miss Downes and Miss Jauncey took fourteen Year 12 students up to the University of Lancaster’s School of Management (in Cheltenham Town FC’s coach no less – many thanks!) where the teams presented their ideas to judges from the University.
The feedback for our teams was incredible and they were all complemented on their innovative ideas, the feasibility of the projects, as well as their exceptional presentation skills. Two teams got through to the final six of this national competition and presented their plans again.
Team PowerSpin came out with the People’s Choice Award, voted for by the fellow participants and the university staff. The team consisted of Talha as the Managing Director, Bryn as Financial Director, Adam as HR Director, Tom as Production Director, Toby as Operations Director and Henry as Sales and Marketing Director.
Henry says: “For me, the best part of the competition was the teamwork involved. The camaraderie has brought us closer together – we pulled together as a team and we’ve come out with a victory!”
Well done to the students who took part, you all represented the School extremely well.
