Sam Underhill Shines for England V NewZealand

Sam Underhill turned in a majestic performance at Twickenham last Saturday putting in some trade-mark ‘hits’ which clearly inspired his fellow England players, and set the tone early on for what was a great performance by the home side. He also ‘put to bed’ the perception of some of the pundits that he’s mainly a ‘tackling machine’ with some outstanding work in attack, not least the brilliant ‘in and out’ finish in the closing stages for the try that sadly wasn’t! If given, it would have been the ‘icing on the cake’ of a truly outstanding individual performance. Nevertheless, the ex- STRS 1^st XV Captain made a strong case to be Eddie’s first choice 7 from now on, and demonstrated that he has the potential to be a world class open side. Sam, you were ‘Box Office’ and we’re all very proud of you. Watch out Japan and Australia, there’s an OR on your case!
