Although Dr Johnson considered Shakespeare's King Lear “too painful to bear," the play remains ever popular.
Mr Parker continues to run a thriving Shakespeare Society and on Tuesday 13th a number of students, accompanied by Mrs Saunders and Mr Parker, attended Gregory Doran's production of Lear at the RSC.
Students commented that Antony Sher played Lear with volatility as the catastrophe of the King unfolds.
The production remains at Stratford until 15th of October.
