Some of our Year 12 students visited Oxford’s Trinity College this week to find out more about study at one of the world’s top universities and, importantly, to ‘demystify’ the Oxbridge application process for themselves. Accompanied by Miss Morris and Mr Fullerton, the Rich’s students learnt about the qualities of a successful Oxbridge candidate, the various factors considered for each candidate, and the unique elements the two universities offer; for example, tutorials and the collegiate system. Our pupils took the opportunity to meet and speak with a number of current Oxford students, asking questions about their university experience and how their preconceptions about Oxbridge may have altered after they arrived. Murray Sanderson - a first year Material Science undergraduate and alumni of the School - gave the group a tour of the college after lunch, and provided some great insights into the reality of life as a student both in and outside the lecture theatre.
