The GCSE and A Level pupils were treated to an insight into Sports Science as a career by former pupil Dr. Nicola Bullock.
Since leaving STRS Nicola has become a lead Sports Scientist for the Australian Olympic team. During her career in Australia, she has worked with top athletes across a number of disciplines including Sprint Canoeing, based at the Australian Institute of Sport. Her area of expertise is maximising athletic performance, looking particularly at the physiology of the human body.
Nicola was an inspirational speaker with in depth knowledge of the process elite athletes go through to improve their performance. She also relayed to the students the importance of dedication to their studies and the importance of soft skills.
We look forward to welcoming Nicola back in the future.
