Talk on entry to medical school

On Tuesday 25th June, potential medical students in Year 12 learned of the standards demanded of medical school entry. In order to win a place and undertake five years of hard work, a candidate will need a very strong GCSE profile and the requisite work experience. Further, they will need to convince a panel of interviewers of their suitability and then obtain three “A” grades at advanced level. Rhiannon, our guest from Cardiff University, explained that there were 2500 applicants for 280 places at Cardiff. None of this has prevented Richians from winning places at medical school in recent years.
