Having read 10 nominated books in as many weeks, Y9 boys and Y9 girls from HSFG will meet for a workshop on Monday to prepare presentations on the books. Then to the rest of Y9, they will promote the books they have read. The idea is that a hot air balloon containing all of them and all ten of the books is rapidly losing height. In order to remain in the air, 5 of the books have to be thrown out of the balloon basket, along with their advocates! Each group will do its best to make sure that their book remains. The presentations concluded, Y9 in both schools will vote for the five books which will make it to the shortlist. To find the most favoured book, Y8 will then be asked to read the five remaining books and cast their own votes over the coming weeks. The shortlist will be announced on Tuesday April 24th.
