Y12 MFL Enrichment Day at Bristol

This year the Languages Department has linked with the School of Education at Bristol University to provide training for a Modern Language student teacher. The partnership has been of mutual benefit and we were very pleased to receive an invitation to a Year 12 Enrichment day at the University. The student teachers put together an interesting programme to engage and inspire. The French groups looked at French music in different eras, at French comics to see how the language is used for comic effect and were involved in creating their own drama sketches. Spanish groups studied the genre of Spanish horror films, used art, poetry and music to explore passionate themes within the Hispanic world and designed their own survival guide for Spanish immigrants in an English city. It was an enriching day, providing many opportunities to work in the foreign language alongside students from other schools.
