Year 11 Student Tackles Bath Duathlon

Charlie Rule in Year 11 took part in the Bath Duathlon at the weekend and came third in his category. The (socially distanced) event had been rescheduled from April, and comprised two 1500m runs and a 15km cycle ride.

British Triathlon have different race 'levels' - there are local events, then regional 'points' races and at the top the national 'super series' races. To get into the national super series you have to get enough regional points to be granted entry. This event was a regional points event, just one of a very few that went ahead in the South West this year, which meant the field was highly competitive, with a number of competitors in their Team GBR tri-suits, so it’s an incredible achievement to come third in category, and in poor weather conditions. Charlie has worked hard to train over lockdown, often on his own, with a great deal of focus and determination.

Charlie’s time was 40:18 to run 1500m / cycle 15km / run 1500m. Well done Charlie!
