94% of our Year 11 students achieved at least five GCSEs at grades 7-9 today! In the first year of public examinations since the pandemic, Sir Thomas Rich’s students have achieved excellent results at both GCSE and A Level. Conditions for these examinations were still a little different from the previous ‘normal’, with pupils having experienced periods of remote learning, advanced information released by examination boards and adjusted grade thresholds. Notwithstanding this, both the GCSE and A Level results this year are the best ever the School has achieved for results from public examinations.

A Level

At A Level, the percentage of A* grades (at just under 24%), the percentage of A*/A (at 59%) and the percentage of A*-B (at over 85%) all reached the highest proportions we have ever achieved (excluding 2021 TAG results).

GCSE

At GCSE, results were hugely impressive, with our highest ever proportion of 8/9 grades at 66% (even including last year’s TAG results); and our highest proportion in public examinations for grades 7-9 at 84%. 94% of pupils achieved at least five GCSEs with high grades (grade 7-9) – another measure which is record-breaking.

Headmaster Mr Matthew Morgan said: “Congratulations to pupils and staff for the hard work which underpinned these incredible results. We wish our Year 13s the very best as they take their next steps, and we look forward to seeing our hardworking Year 11 students in the Sixth Form.”
