Continental Schools U18 Cup

On Wednesday, 1st XV reached the Quarter Final stage of the Continental Schools U18 Cup for only the third time in the School's history. The team played former four-time winners of the competition, Whitgift School. After tries from Will F, James B and Dan S had kept Rich’s in the game, Jake W kicked a penalty with five minutes remaining to put the 1st XV 22-21 ahead. However, with Rich’s in possession on the half-way line with 30 seconds remaining in the game, the referee awarded Whitgift a penalty, which they converted to win 22-24. It would have been the first National Schools Cup Semi-Final that the school has achieved. The 1st XV look to bounce back in their remaining Daily Mail Trophy games against Solihull School and Northampton School for Boys, and the remaining fixtures in the new year, but a huge well done to all the pupils involved on an excellent Cup run.
