Duke of Edinburgh

At the weekend over 60 year 10s completed their practice Bronze Duke of Edinburgh’s Award expedition. All groups have successfully demonstrated that they can use a map, compass and successfully navigate their way from Stow on the Wold to Folly Farm near Turkdean where they camped in cold conditions. Some boys even found the courage to speak to some girls from a Stratford school also staying at the campsite. The campsite manager was particularly impressed with the boys. They all managed to cook meals of varying degrees of quality. Will Jollans and Toby Green even managed to dress for dinner! Mr and Mrs James provided one and all with extra sustenance in the form of hotdogs which were particularly well received after an exhausting game of Rounders overseen by the ever athletic Mr Buttle. Thanks should go to all staff who accompanied the participants but particularly Mrs James for organising the weekend.
