GCSE Revision Workshop
Published Monday 9 February 2026 by SJV
Our Year 11 English students took part in a focused workshop in the School Hall today on how to revise effectively. Using ideas from cognitive science, pupils looked at why 'active' revision is more effective than 'passive' revision, and why revision should feel challenging. Pupils explored how real progress comes from identifying gaps in knowledge and addressing them, not just rereading familiar content. They were introduced to the three stages of English revision: Knowledge consolidation / Application to exam questions / Review and reflection.
Parent Revision Workshop – Tuesday 10 February A reminder that a similar session, covering effective revision strategies for all GCSE subjects, is being held in the School Hall for Year 11 parents on Tuesday 10 February at 5.30pm.
