German Exchange Underway

After much anticipation the German exchange programme is finally underway. Eighteen of our Year 10 pupils and their exchange partners from the Otto-Hahn Gymnasium in Göttingen are enjoying a week full of new experiences, cultural interchange and new friendships. A variety of trips and activities have been organised for our guests, including a visit to Bristol where they enjoyed discovering the SS Great Britain and the street art, both topics they have studied in their textbooks at school.
On Friday evening we celebrated the Göttingen-Gloucester exchange together with pupils and parents coming together for a traditional barn dance in the school hall (pictured here). The German students are now looking forward to exploring Gloucester, where they will meet the Mayor and even try on ceremonial gowns. Our pupils, students from Denmark Road High School and our German partners will all be taking part in a fun day out bowling and playing crazy golf.
Mrs Testoni-Ranken would like to thank the host families and students who continue to support the exchange in its 47th year, and without whom it wouldn’t be possible. We are committed to maintaining strong links with the Otto-Hahn Gymnasium and are very grateful to be able to continue to offer pupils such a valuable and unique experience.
