Author Matt Dickinson spent the day with our English Department and pupils earlier this week. Matt delivered two talks to Year 9 students in the Sports Hall, and led three writing workshops with English classes across the day, working with two Year 8 groups and one Year 10 group. It was a great opportunity for pupils to hear from a published author and develop their own writing skills.

Pupils and parents may already know some of Matt’s books, including The Everest Files, North Face, Mortal Chaos, Black Ice and The Other Side of Everest. His writing often draws on his experiences as an Everest climber and filmmaker. A huge thank you to Matt for delivering such informative talks and workshops, and for encouraging the next generation of writers.
