24 boys and 3 staff have just returned from a highly productive cricket tour to Jersey. The highlight of the visit was the defeat of the Jersey development squad by 7 wickets by our under 14 team. Adam Robson took 3 for 16 and then scored 39 runs in a match winning performance.
Our under 13 team lost all 3 games against strong opposition but made significant strides during the tour, guided by the expert coaching of Mr Robson. In their final game, they bowled out Victoria College for 127 with new boy Blake Mainwaring-Taylor taking 3 wickets with his leg spin. He was helped by superb catching by Dan Akiat and Charlie Mackie. Charlie Moir, a B team player, bowled superbly throughout.
Our under 13 squad is already looking forward to next year’s tour with its excellent food at the Mornington Hotel, beach games and Fish and chips in Gorey.
