L3Harris Computer Science Workshop

Published Monday 23 March 2026 by SJV

On Friday, a team from top cybertech firm L3Harris in Tewkesbury worked with our Year 12 Computer Science students on designing and coding digital logic circuits. It was a challenging, hands on day that ended with students building their own 4 bit RISC processor. A fantastic opportunity to apply their learning and gain real industry experience. Our students said:

“Today was an enriching experience where I got to find out about how finite state machines work and how to implement it on software. Thank you L3Harris!” Akshaya

“Loved this workshop from L3Harris. It was a great way to see the applications of computer science, A Level concepts and to go beyond the specification. They were really engaging and it was a fun day. Thanks L3Harris.” Dunsin

“I enjoyed having the opportunity to learn more about the application of computer science for engineering fields centred around digital logic. I particularly enjoyed learning about the importance of FSMs and the implications within the working of the CPU.” Fiona

Our grateful thanks to L3Harris for their time and efforts in running a fantastic day for our students.
