We are currently recruiting for a Teacher of Biology (maternity cover), a Teacher of Science with a specialism in Biology, Chemistry or Physics, and a Science Technician. The Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Geology Departments at Sir Thomas Rich's form the Science group. Each Department has its own Head, responsible for the day-to-day running of the Department and each is extremely strong, comprising staff who are passionate about their subject and who support each other by sharing resources and ideas. The Departments share responsibilities amongst staff, with everyone willing to make their contribution in order to ensure everything runs smoothly. There is excellent team spirit and positive communication across the Science group.
Vacancy: Teacher of Biology (maternity cover)
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, outstanding graduate to teach Biology and possibly some Physics and Chemistry throughout the age range, up to GCSE and A Level. This fixed term, full-time post from January 2021 until 31 August or 31 December 2021 would be equally well suited to an ambitious NQT or a more experienced teacher, willing to contribute to the extracurricular life of the School.Vacancy: Teacher of Science (specialism in Physics, Chemistry or Biology)
Due to curriculum expansion, a fantastic opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, outstanding graduate to teach Science and your area of specialism (Physics, Chemistry or Biology) from Key Stage 3 up to A Level and Oxbridge entry. This permanent, full-time post commencing January or September 2021 would be equally well suited to an ambitious NQT or a more experienced teacher, willing to contribute to the extracurricular life of the School. Due to an internal move an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Technician with a good background in science and experience of working in a school or laboratory. The successful candidate will work as a member of a team of three technicians providing specialist technical support to the Science Faculty, consisting of eight laboratories over two floors. The role will include the preparation, setting up and clearing away of apparatus, equipment, materials and solutions as required by teaching staff to support Biology, Physics, and Chemistry lessons for KS3 to KS5 pupils (Years 7 to 13). The post is for 22.5 hours per week, term time only, plus INSET days, plus approximately two weeks to be worked during school holidays (41 weeks per year) and will commence as soon as possible. The salary offered for this part-time post will be Local Government Grade 5, points 11-14, approximately £11,562 to £12,270 (full time currently £21,166 to £22,462 per annum). For the right, exceptional candidate, Grade 6 points 15-20, approximately £12,515 to £13,817 (full-time currently £22,911 to £25,295) will be considered, as will working 30 hours per week.
