New iPads with GIS Courtesy of PTFA

A huge thank you to our Parent, Teacher and Friends’ Association (PTFA) for generously providing a grant to fund a new set of iPads for use in Geography. Our Year 8 pupils are already putting them to great use in their lessons! Here, pupils in Mrs Harris’s class are using ArcGIS, a digital mapping tool, to explore different geographical features and patterns of physical and human geography across the Middle East. Through these activities, pupils are developing their map-reading and digital skills, learning how to use Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to investigate places, identify patterns and better understand the world around them.
We are incredibly grateful to the PTFA for supporting our Geography Department and helping to make learning more interactive, engaging and hands-on for our pupils. Thank you for your continued support.
Supporting the School
We are able to offer many amazing curricular and extracurricular opportunities due to funds gratefully received from fundraising carried out by the hard-working volunteers of the PTFA, and through donations from parents and alumni to The 1666 Fund.
If you would like to make a one-off donation or pledge a regular monthly gift, however small, we would really appreciate your support and it will make a huge difference to the generations of Richians still to come.
