School to Celebrate 80 Years of Rugby with Special Match Day

Sir Thomas Rich's 80 years of rugby with a special celebration event on Saturday 21 March, bringing together pupils, alumni, parents and supporters for a full day of sport and fundraising in aid of the School Development Fund. Parents, supporters and friends of the school are warmly invited to attend and support the celebration. The day’s activities begin at 11.30am, when Years 7-10 compete in House Rugby tournaments running through to 2pm. Alongside these fixtures, former pupils will take part in Alumni Touch Rugby tournaments, giving past and present members of the school community a chance to take to the field.
At 1.30pm, the Under-17s face the Under-16s in what promises to be a competitive match! The afternoon’s rugby programme then culminates in the headline fixture at 3pm, when the 1st XV take on Hartpury College.
A barbecue, refreshments and a bar will be available throughout the day, with both cash and card payments accepted.
Parking will be available via Gate 1 and on the tennis courts to help accommodate visitors.
In the evening, celebrations continue with a black-tie dinner and live music. There may be space to add an additional table, and parents who are interested in attending are encouraged to contact Vicki Lynn on vn@strs.org.uk for ticket information and further details.
