Sir Thomas Rich’s School students achieved outstanding GCSE results this year, with 47 per cent of all exams being awarded with the very highest grades of 8 or 9 (the equivalent of an A*)
All students gained five or more passes and 69% of grades were 7 and above.
Headmaster Matthew Morgan said:
“I am absolutely delighted with these wonderful results, particularly in a year when the qualifications have been reformed.
Such fantastic grades are only achieved on the back of a lot of hard work and I am so pleased to see that our students’ commitment and dedication have paid off.
I would also like to thank the teaching staff who have prepared the students so well, both in their normal lessons and in the huge number of revision sessions put on in their own time.
The vast majority of students will now be able to move on to their chosen A-level courses and we look forward to further success for them over the next two years.”
