Spanish Play ¡Fuera!

Last week students of Spanish had the opportunity to see the Spanish Play ¡Fuera! It was a fun performance which engaged the audience from beginning to end. Acted almost completely in Spanish with the exception of a few outbursts of the song “Fernando”, it gave students the opportunity to listen to conversational Spanish over a longer period than can be achieved in the classroom. Where the Spanish was not easily understood, gestures and actions aided comprehension. The two actors were native Spanish speakers at the beginning of their careers and delivered a high quality performance. The storyline was of particular appeal to a teenage audience. The love hate relationship which so frequently dominates sibling relationships was portrayed in a hilarious way. The audience particularly enjoyed the interaction with the cast and congratulations must go to those pupils who dared to tread the boards and contribute to the performance.
