Sir Thomas Rich’s continued their fine run of success this season with a well- deserved 25-10 win over local rivals St Peter’s in the 3rd Round of the Daily Mail Cup on Wednesday. St Peter’s defended well and fought hard to the end but the Rich’s backs took their opportunities better and scored 4 excellent tries. Right wing, Lee Hathaway, scored two of the tries, and the others were scored by fly half Ross Preedy, who also kicked a penalty, and in-form scrum half and captain Ollie Young. Ireland U18 squad member, Joe Carolan, completed the scoring with a conversion. This victory extended Rich’s unbeaten season so far to 11 wins and a draw from their 12 matches, which has included excellent wins over Bridgend College, Colson’s and Cokethorpe and an outstanding performance away at Monmouth which they drew 35 all having been 21-3 down. They will now play previous winners Colston’s from Bristol in Round 4 of the Cup at home.
