Vacancy: English Teacher (maternity cover)
Published Thursday 19 November 2020 by SJV
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, outstanding graduate to teach English from Key Stage 3 up to A Level and Oxbridge entry. This fixed term (up to one year) full or part-time post would be equally well suited to an ambitious NQT or a more experienced teacher willing to contribute to the extracurricular life of the School.
The English Department at Sir Thomas Rich’s comprises teachers who are hardworking, passionate about language and literature and strive to engage our able pupils through innovative teaching and learning strategies. At present, English is taught by a close-knit and supportive team of six teachers who work together to develop schemes of work, teaching resources and share best practice. Teachers in the Department all contribute to the extracurricular programme and currently run a Shakespeare Society, an English Society, an Extension Class for Sixth Form students and the Bluecoat Book Award for Key Stage 3 students.
