We’re very proud to announce that Alex Price in 12T has been elected Member of Youth Parliament for Gloucester and The Forest of Dean, competing against 20 other candidates from local secondary schools, colleges and apprenticeship schemes. Alex achieved an outstanding majority with 26.13% of the overall vote for Gloucester/Forest, with the second placed candidate, from Marling School, taking 12.05% and the third placed candidate 9.9%.
Alex says: “I’m in office for two years with the initial priority to spread awareness of the organisation with the overarching theme ‘Our voice matters’. I’m already working with local and national governments to improve existing campaigns and establish new methods of outreach, as well as the prospect of partnering to produce a BBC documentary series.”
Mrs Harris comments: “Alex Price Sam Kane were two out of 20 candidates in Gloucester and the Forest of Dean. Well done to both for taking part and all your hard work campaigning. I’m delighted that Alex won the vote and is now the Member of Youth Parliament for Gloucester!”
