Year 13 Students Support Year 7 Pupils

Our Year 13 students have begun mentoring Year 7 pupils as part of the Peer Mentoring programme, which launched this term and will support our youngest pupils throughout their first year at the School. In today’s session, pupils from 7B and 7T explored the Tommy’s Award, which recognises pupils’ commitment to all aspects of life at Sir Thomas Rich’s School. Working with their mentors, they discussed how they could meet the criteria for each of the four Bronze Award categories: Curriculum, Service and Commitment, Extracurricular, and Super-curricular. Mentors and mentees will meet again after half term to continue working towards the award.
Those who achieve the Bronze Award by the first half-term after Easter are presented with a certificate and an enamel pin badge in a special assembly at the end of the Summer Term. They can then progress to the Silver Award in Year 8, and the Gold Award by the end of Year 9.
