Last term all Year 7 pupils took part in the Young Green Briton Design Workshop – a sustainable enterprise and design initiative. Teams of five came up with new products or services to help tackle one of five key sustainability issues: transport, energy, waste, biodiversity and food. The day was supported by lessons in English and Geography which provided pupils with a baseline understanding of the issues involved and explored some potential solutions. The teams worked really hard to produce design prototypes which they pitched to their peers. The keenest groups go on to prepare for a 'Dragons' Den' style event. The winning group will receive funding to further develop their idea and will go to the national finals event at City Hall in London.
